I was not a particularly willing mystic… as is so often the case. Suffering opened the door and compelled me to walk through it.
For me, it began with a health crisis at twenty-seven. Everything in my life came to a complete standstill, beginning a process of deconstruction that would take many years to unfold.
For anyone familiar with the myth of Inanna, this was my journey into the underworld… descending through the seven gates as, one by one, every part of my upper-world identity was pried from my hands.
My health struggles were the outward expression of an entire paradigm and way of being that had led me there: sacrificing myself again and again, silencing my boundaries, overriding my body, and living with a nervous system caught in fear and survival.
Eventually, all of this led to a dramatic collapse. My journey back to a fully functioning human life would take almost ten years.
Those years became an initiation into an entirely different way of being. They brought about the complete overhaul of virtually every aspect of my life… my lifestyle, my relationships, my career, and even the spiritual path I had been so deeply committed to since the age of eighteen.
The journey of healing led me into the study and practice of somatic therapy, feminine-centred spiritual lineages, mythology, history, and mysticism. Through these different doorways, I began to find language for what I was experiencing. I came to understand how deeply my ways of being had been shaped by family beliefs, patriarchal conditioning, and a culture that is way way out of balance… a culture that so often teaches us to override the body, devalue the feminine, and push past our human limits.
I began the painstakingly slow work of re-patterning my nervous system for safety and well-being. I learned to slow down, honour my limits, and work in tandem with my body. Little by little, I began to meet the parts of myself I had pushed aside with tenderness and reverence.
I began to untangle my own desires from the expectations I had inherited around success, productivity, and worth. My pace changed, and so did my reference points. What felt nourishing, honest, and sustainable became a compass for how I wanted to live.
My spiritual path changed too. For years, I had sought to transcend my human experience… to lift up and away from its pain, vulnerability, and limitations. Slowly, my practice became a movement toward a fuller inhabiting of my humanity: learning to welcome my body, my feelings, my needs, and the ordinary intimacy of being alive.
As this unfolded, I began to understand my journey as an initiation into the wisdom school of the Divine Feminine. What had felt so deeply personal began to reveal its connection to something much larger… a collective need to restore our relationship with the earth, with our bodies, and with the love, care and wisdom of the feminine.
This new inner listening called upon me to reclaim what our culture has so often devalued, shamed, or desecrated.
I had come to know, through my own collapse, the cost of living disconnected from the body, earth and intuition. I began to recognize that same pattern in a culture that asks both people and the earth to give endlessly, without rest or replenishment.
My healing became inseparable from learning another way… one rooted in reciprocity, attunement, and deep care for the preciousness of life.
The Heart of My Work
My passion for creating nurturing, healing, and deeply safe spaces was born from this journey.
It was born from the years I spent teaching my own body that it was safe to be here.
It was born from the spaces I longed for while I was suffering… places where I could move at my own pace, honour my limits, and be met with tenderness.
It was born from the beauty of encountering the Divine Feminine… and discovering how deeply we need her wisdom…
It was born from a deepening reverence for women, and the conviction that empowering our connection to our bodies, voices, and knowing is an essential part of healing our world.
These experiences live at the heart of the spaces I offer today: spaces where the body’s wisdom is honoured, where every part of us is welcome, and where safety, presence, beauty, and love can nourish our unfolding.
It is my deep joy and honour to invite you into those spaces now.
